Balboa Park Garden Museum

Below, some of the many photos I took with my phone camera of the Garden Museum in Balboa Park, San Diego California. I love the slatted covering of this museum, which produces the dappled sunlight one would find on the floor of the rain forest.  During the dry hot periods of weather, the little birds fly through the slats looking for the cool clear water in the numerous small fountains that humidify these plants.  While we were there several migrating Western Phoebe flew over our heads. Meanwhile, various tropical plants including hundreds of….TA DAH….orchids flourish below the “tree canopy.”  I am linking this post to Michelle’s Nature Notes. (link below in blog roll)

Look closely and find the ‘goldfish” or Koi.
