Our Batty Party

It just goes to show…adults can party without booze and/or drugs.  No football games necessary either, in fact no TV.  In my shabby chic ‘Aging in Place’ neighborhood, reside artists, witches, and others. Once a year, one of the neighbors sponsors an annual bat party where volunteers at the animal shelter and library, animal rights activists, environmentalists, and handymen, all retired at least partially, gather for a celebration.   The topic of concern…bats and their preservation.   Below are some of the photos from our carb laden gathering yesterday.

  1. Oh my! This looks so absolutely wonderful, Dianne. I find that Halloween is treated more seriously and with more fun on the mainland than in Hawaii. I think it’s the climate. The fall leaves, the temperature change… etc., or is it the fact that we have a young granddaughter on the mainland and mostly seniors in our Hawaii neighborhood? Your party looks like it was full of fall fun!

  2. No booze or drugs at our Virtual Tea Party either. You’re very good at avoiding the cake. I love the setting with that beautiful wreath on the front door.

    • It’s a nifty place for sure. Goes to show what many old ladies and a few old guys can accomplish when left to their own creativity. The only thing that puts a damper on us is property taxes. From time to time, one of us is forced to sell up and leave.
