Gardening since 1944
I completed a graduate degree in History May 2012 at age 70. Before I retired, I was the manager of an economics group in a large corporation until 1989. After that. I worked for the Census Bureau and retired permanently in 2006.
When I am not reading, I am gardening.

Memories
David drove me to a bird store in Herndon Virginia where I went nuts and bought six love birds. I recall we stopped at a 7-11 and David bought Dove bars on the way. I had so much fun eating the Dove bar and getting the birds. Dove bars bring back happy memories, although I seldom eat them anymore. The love birds are another story.

Happy Birthday prematurely. You are still yet a puppy to me. Funny, I don’t have a goal age, maybe I should.
Hoping for the best for Jane and just put her in a prayer.
Thanks Patti. I suppose no matter how old we become we are a “puppy” to someone. Thank you for the thought for Jane.
Congrats on the upcoming birthday. I’m just about a year behind.
Your comment on resentment struck me. I remember a quote about it: “If you harbor resentment, happiness will always dock elsewhere.” True words.
You always know the full quote. You must have majored in English?
No, but I did cause more than one English teacher to take early retirement.
Happy 70th, in two days! I have to wait 4 more years for mine. You are lucky you have an annuity and govt bonds. All I have is an IRA, which was partly destroyed when the market crashed in 2008. Thank goodness, David still has a job and is bringing home income and also has a great profit sharing plan at work. As for memories, blogging certainly helps. And I think it also staves off senility/dementia.
David and I are both retired and mostly on fixed incomes. Inflation is our only realy concern.
I’m rooting for you to reach that milestone 78 and quite a few more…I also get my best writing ideas during the night. In the morning I remember I had a great idea – but often forget what it was!
Thanks Meryl.
Ah, happy birthday dear bird person. No love birds here. Doves continually cooing outside.
Yes, I too did years of counseling. Hopefully it did some help, but at the rate I forget things, the Alanon tools stick with me best.
How is your walking doing. Are you ready for California?
Working in the garden every day. Walking a bit. I want to keep up with you, but you will have to ply me with lattes. Al-Anon this week. Tough love works. Dianne
